The sanctions against building the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline will not affect its construction, as they are about a year too late, according to Forbes.
"Nord Stream 2 was always seen as a slap in the face to Ukraine, the article says.
But Forbes noted that if Ukraine is put back on line as a bigger player, the U.S. would have to force risk on importers through the threat of fines.
"These sanctions are too little, too late. Even the Russia haters will hate this," the newspaper writes.
